Root on the KSU iTeach Maker Bus

Throughout the school year and the summer, Root will be piloted in schools and camps across the country. One of the most interesting installations of Root is literally on the Kennesaw State University Bagwell College of Education's Maker Bus. The Maker Bus is a colorful 30-foot bus that is a mobile classroom and lab that provides access to technology and other educational activities directly to K-12 students in the Atlanta metro area. According to KSU news, the bus includes a laser cutter, 3D printer, a drone, circuit kits and is fully equipped with Wi-Fi and its contents can be changed to accommodate different grade levels. Students can engage in hands-on STEM activities as well as reading, writing and history lessons.

David Lockhart aka. the Big Guy in the Bow Tie, Education Technology Specialist with the iTeach Center at KSU, is nothing short of a Root superfan, even pushing that the side of the bus be painted in 16 square cm "Root-sized' grid pattern! Our Learning Design team has partnered with David and the KSU team for quite some time, building and developing the curriculum that will be used in the bus as well as with other pilot programs this year.
